Wave Sports is currently looking for a Sales & Marketing Coordinator.

The Sales & Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the execution and marketing of specified programs and League Management. They actively promote and assist in league, program & customer service operations, consistently providing exceptional customer experiences to all facility users and ensuring a high level of customer retention.


• Identify and aggressively recruit teams and individual participants
• Accept registrations and collect team/player registration fees and waivers are collected in accordance with established payment policies and best-practices?
• Assist with the creation and communication of league (and tournament) playing schedules
• Act as a direct liaison between management, coaches and players including in person communications with teams to team and convening duties
• Distribute schedules and results for in-house programs and tournaments and update company database
• Daily administration including, but not limited to; convening, referee/timekeeper scheduling, league statistics, conflict resolution and divisional alignment. Possesses a strong working knowledge of league rules, discipline / suspension guidelines and processes. Can confidently interpret, communicate, and enforce League rules as required
• Actively participate in the Referee evaluation process and records a consistent flow of constructive feedback about officials.
• Apply strong working knowledge of online statistics hardware and software (including customer features, administrative tools and processes)
• Oversee program execution, assist with program creation or implementation
• Assist with field or ice programming as lead instructor
• Communicate with camp participates weekly schedules & camp requirements
• Regular contact with teams and participants, ensuring retention of customers in leagues and programs
• Takes casual/spot rental bookings, prepare contracts and collect and collect fees
• Ensures a written account of important information is communicated to the Facility Management—via the nightly Shift Report

• Graduation from a university/college in the Sports/Leisure Administration/Kinesiology field (preferred)
• Coaching experience is an asset
• Standard 1st Aid and CPR

• At least one year of experience working in a sports or leisure environment such as camps or other children/youth camps, or coaching children and/or adults
• Ability to cold call new potential customers, teams and coaches
• Ability to work within a budget
• Ability to create new initiatives to boost program and league registrations
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings & weekends)
• Demonstrated knowledge of sport rules and good understanding of tournament draws
• Experience in customer service and marketing preferred

Wave Sports is currently looking for an Arena Operator

• Open Sports Centre on weekends, when required, at approximately 7:30 am to accommodate tournaments or later depending on games
• Close and secure arena each day at 11:00 pm or earlier depending on rentals.
• Daily air quality testing and reporting weekly to office using forms provided.
• Ensure team dressing rooms are open and appointed to teams for tournaments.
• Clean ice and general ice maintenance.
• Inspection of arena after rentals to ensure no damages.
• Clean arena area only, not lobby, bathrooms, or dressing rooms. Includes garbage removal, mopping and cleaning of rink boards and viewing glass.
• Oversea public use of facility and ensure no vandalism and proper conduct while at the facility.
• Perform minor maintenance and repair of arena equipment which includes changing resurface blades.
• Pick up propane and refilling for tractor, with travel costs reimbursed as per policy.
• Snow removal from all doors, exits and front door asphalt area.
• Perform minor maintenance on whole building as required – (lobby, tractor room, dressing rooms, arena). Includes, changing bulbs, fixing doors, patching holes and painting, cleaning any graffiti, minor plumbing repairs on sinks, toilets, showers, other maintenance as required.
• Minor rink board and gate repairs including advertising installation.
• Liaison with contractors or suppliers when required to perform duties.
• Ensure exhaust fans are running when cleaning ice.
• Daily time sheets with duties performed.
• Duties maybe modified as required.

• Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in ice-making.
• B Ticket
• Knowledge of and ability to resurface ice, change blades and maintain resurfacer, (Zamboni).
• Knowledge of driving tractor to pull resurfacer, (Zamboni).
• Ability to provide an acceptable criminal record check, vulnerable check and drivers abstract

• Skill to use a variety of tools and equipment.
• Ability to perform a variety of semi-skilled building maintenance, and minor tasks and to perform routine janitorial duties.
• Ability to enforce rules and regulations governing the operation of the arena during public session, user groups and adult groups.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff and the public.
• Ability to deal tactfully and firmly with groups and individuals to ensure observance of facility rules, regulations, and schedules.
• Ability to exercise independent judgement and action in accordance with established practices and procedures.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Is aware and understands implementation of the Facility Emergency Plan, Incident Reports and knows

• Completed high school education or equivalent is an asset
• Valid driver’s license an asset

• Previous experience as a commercial buildings janitor (preferred)
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends and call outs)
