Wave Hockey offers programming for Men and Women, Boys and Girls of all ages and skill levels. Remember that you can join a program part-way through and we’ll prorate the price for you.
For ages 3-10. choose from 30-minute classes running June through August. Choose Saturday mornings, or Wednesday evenings. LEARN TO SKATE: Professionally Certified Coaches with their Trained Instructors, teach children skating skills using toys, music and games. Preschool children will be taught basic skills such as standing, balance, gliding, forwards and backwards and other required skills to progress through the Wave PreSchool Program. Report cards will be given out at the end of each Session. Neck guards and helmets with full cages are mandatory.
Note: To participate in our Pre-Power Skating program, skaters must have already passed the Wave Level 3 of our Learn to Skate program or an equivalent. Coaches can assess skaters on first day or before if they are already in another program. Skaters may be moved at coaches’ discretion.
This program caters to House League players and incorporates both Boys and Girls. They’ll focus on learning basic hockey techniques through repetition. Participants also get to learn a wider variety of hockey skills through play-based drills and games. this stage introduces skills like stride development, glide turns, backwards skating and puck touches.
This program caters to Rep and House League players and incorporates both Boys and Girls. We have a low instructor to student ratio and players are grouped according to skill level. We train with game type situations, focusing on: gap control, zone coverage, efficient stick use, first passes and point shooting.
This training program is designed to train skaters to perform a combination of skills and agility maneuvers simultaneously in in and around the PHD apparatuses to simulate small area game situations. Repetition of PHD unique area patterns help players become instinctive in their play, and makes it easier and quicker for players to apply in game situations.
50-minute sessions focused on balance, edges / tight turns, stopping, puck control / passing / shooting, forwards and backwards skating. Players are split into stations for drills. These classes end in fun mini-games (groups based on skill) where players get to try out their new skills. The final few classes are a full-ice game to prepare players for full games at the next level. All games are held on our NHL-sized surfaces, and players shoot on open nets (no goalies!). An extremely fun and relaxed atmosphere for everyone. Full Hockey Equipment and stick are required.

Learn the fundamentals of the sport and improve your skills in shooting, passing and puck control. These fun sessions are perfect for players in the basic and intermediate stages. We offer a fun and relaxed learning environment for competitive fun.
This skate is for Minor Midget players. This is intense training for speed, agility and quickness. All three of these skills coincide with each other to take your game to the next level. This sessions works on: Leg strength, explosiveness, forward and defense drills as well as driving the net.
High Level, Jr. Skate. This program is designed for, quick feet and lateral movement drills, quick crossovers, explosive first few strides, skating and stick handling at high speeds, shooting speed and accuracy while skating. With a emphasis on cardiovascular fitness.
High Performance is a highly technical power skating program that emphasizes:
First-step quickness, Reaction skills, Puck control, Explosiveness, Power and acceleration, An excellent student-to-instructor ratio, Puckwork implemented throughout the program.

For ages 5-8. Professionally-Certified Coaches teach children power skating skills and techniques. FULL HOCKEY EQUIPMENT AND STICK ARE REQUIRED. Child must be able to skate. This 7-week Session runs July 16/23/30, August 6/13/20/27. 1-hour classes running Thursdays at 5:30pm. Learning the proper technique helps develop a strong, fast skater.

Players are split into stations for drills. Participants should be able to skate forward, fall down and get up without assistance. 9-week Sessions run September through the end of April. Choose from Sessions held on Saturdays at 10am or 11am. All classes are held at StoneRidge Ice Centre. An extremely fun and relaxed atmosphere for everyone, with professional instruction. Full hockey equipment and a stick are required. PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a Learn to Skate program. It is highly recommended that your child has had skating lessons.
